My Library Tour At UW-Madison
Day 1 : Wisconsin Historical Society Library
Saturday : Jun 25th, 2016
Before I travel to Wisconsin, Madison, I have learned that there are lots of libraries within and around the university. So I plan to visit and work in most of libraries in UW-Madison. Although the first library that I have visited is Memorial Library, I will write about Memorial library later.
On Saturday, I went to Wisconsin Historical Society Library which is located at the corner of North Park Street and Langdon Street, opposite to the Memorial Library. The outside of the building looks like an ancient greek building. When I walked though the front door, I saw a beautiful decoration with cream-colour marble, huge marble pillars, gigantic marble stair, and an antique elevator. I walked up the stair and entered into the library on the second floor of the build on the left side. My first impression was about the antique and gorgeous decoration combined with the modern style of the library. I sat and started doing my homework. While I was doing my homework, I saw many adults and aged people were seeking and discussing about many kinds of books. This library was not an extremely quiet place, so I think it was more comfortable and relax for working without stress by silence. More information about this library, we can visit the website (http://www.wisconsinhistory.org).
